Mission

Our Trust & Safety team works hard to ensure you have the best possible experience. We routinely review accounts for inconsistent or suspect behavior. When communicating with or meeting a match, don’t ignore your instincts. You need judgment and intuition to protect yourself in any circumstances. We aim to make the process of meeting people online a little easier and safer. Therefore we verify each new profile upon registration, encrypt all data, and actively block profiles with suspicious activity. Your actions also matter, so we made up a list of tips to provide you with an extra layer of security during your Jolly experience.

Use lovedate’s Secure Messaging

Always be wary of someone who immediately wants to move communication off the lovedate platform – maybe suggesting email, WhatsApp or other messaging platforms. Users who don’t have the best intentions will try to take the conversation off lovedate as soon as possible.

Never Share Financial or Private Information

  • Never give out your credit card number or bank account information.
  • Never share your Social Security Number, mother’s maiden name or other private information like your address that can be used to access your financial information.
  • Never send money or goods to anyone.
  • lovedate will not call you about your account unless you have already discussed/requested a call back with an agent.
  • lovedate will never ask for your full financial details over the phone. You may be asked for the last 4 digits of your payment method to verify that you are the owner of the account.
  • In some cases, we will send you a link via email to update your payment details.
  • lovedate will never charge you for performing customer care operations.

If a match tries to pressure you for this sort of information, stop communicating immediately and report the user to lovedate. You can see how to report a match here, and this report will go straight to our Trust & Safety team.

Protect Your Account in Public

When accessing your account from a public or shared computer, be aware of your surroundings so that others are not able to view or record your password or other personal information.

Keep Your Personal Information Safe

  • Never include your last name, email address, home address, telephone number, place of work or any other identifying information in your profile or messages during early communication
  • Once you’ve given out personal information, you cannot take it back
  • lovedate will never ask you to download additional apps or programs

IMPORTANT: We never send emails, SMS, or any other notifications asking for your username and password information. If you have fallen victim to a scam, make sure you report it by contacting us.

Meeting in person

  • Get to know the other person before meeting in person: never agree to meet someone just after the first few messages.
  • Meet for the first few times in populated public places, and avoid moving to a private location.
  • Tell a friend or family member of your plans, including when and where you’re going to meet a new person. Have your cell phone charged and with you at all times.
  • If something looks suspicious during the meeting — feel free to end it under any pretext.
